I've reviewed a number of these Ceramic Brush style hair straighteners
now. In general I have liked them all... to be honest many were
basically the same hair-brush-style as another that I had reviewed with a
different name and perhaps a slightly different placement of the
control buttons. And they all worked great. But as with any new
technology, once something comes out others will often take the concept
and improve on it.
Enter the 2nd Generation of Ceramic Hair
Straightening brushes. One of the things I didn't like about the
original designs was that they were a bit heavy and clumsy... but the
results were worth the downside at the time. Obviously someone else felt
the same as I did and designed this new style which is more like a
small travel-brush size/style which is MUCH easier to handle with the
same results.
Not only is it lighter in weight and easier to
handle, the back of the head doesn't tend to get hot like the original
versions. As you can see in the video I'm uploading, I'm able to hold
the head while its on quite comfortably. Many of the older versions
include gloves to keep you from getting burned because the case got so
hot.
One other improvement is how fast this thing heats up.
Literally 1-2 minutes and it's ready to go. For someone like me who
hates to fuss too much with my hair, those minutes mean a lot to me!
The
temperature is set in 5 levels instead of by actual temperature. This
simplifies things as you quickly learn which setting works best for you.
My somewhat curly, thick but not coarse hair does well on the 3rd or
4th setting. The coarser your hair, the higher setting you will need. It
takes me less than 5 minutes to get my hair straight and ready to go
out the door.
All in all I love this thing. I thought the
originals were brilliant, but this newer design is a definite
improvement and this is my new, go-to for taming my locks before I go
out. I'll be uploading a video as soon as this goes live to show you how
it works.
